Things to do

Sabah is never lack of shopping places. Shopping malls are sprawling in the state capital, offering mass trading of clothes, souvenir items and delectable snacks at affordable prices. If you miss shopping at home, shopping here is equally fulfilling. To hunt for souvenirs items, head to Wawasan Plaza , Asia City Shopping Complex or the Local Handicraft Market in Kota Kinabalu. Other must-visit shopping malls are Centre Point, Wisma Merdeka and 1Borneo - the largest lifestyle hypermall in Borneo . If you happen to be in Kota Kinabalu on Sunday, don't miss the opportunity to visit Gaya Street . Previously known as Bond Street , this once-a-week market place is one of the best places to bargain for a wide variety of goodies including t-shirts, beads, local crackers, coffee and handicraft. Pekan Nabalu near Kinabalu Park is also a great place to purchase locally made souvenirs.
